    1. Hi Marcelo! Yes, although there may be smaller vent stacks or such, at a nuclear plant you will never see tall smokestacks. Just steam if there are cooling towers (also, not all nuclear plants use cooling towers). Generally the smokestacks have to be very tall to make sure the smoke distributes instead of settling back down in a thick plume.

  5. Nuclear is bad, because the stagnation in its development.
Nuclear Engineers are actually "Nuclear Boiler Engineers".
Nuclear power is in its infancy as was fire 10,000 years ago, by that time who thought about fuel injection or rocket engines, when they barely learned how to set their neighbor on fire. I think the similitude is clear.
To talk to such a cave men leader about advanced use of fire, is similar to talking to US national laboratories and DOE leaders about nano-nuclear materials...their brains are frozen into their retirement and glory goals doing minimum to nothing.
So one wonders why nuclear is not much better, simply look at leadership in nuclear domain, and see all kind of managers that are ready to give nice talks on what one wants to hear, understanding barely nothing of what they manage...that's US today...these guys are responsible for the doomed future.
Look at US accidents, to Japan and Russia, and see if US is much better?
